Easter Egg Hunt 2019

Easter Egg Hunt

On Good Friday the DNA hosts, in Durand Park, an amazing and much anticipated Easter Egg Hunt. We fill the park with thousands of foil covered Easter eggs, have a visit from a special bunny and have a few games for the children to play. This free event is very popular and runs rain or shine each year.

Annual Movie Night 2019

On a weekend in September the Durand and surrounding communities join-in to fill the Durand park with blankets and chairs to watch a family friendly movie under the stars. Also offered is free popcorn and apple cider. In past years, food trucks have attended the event to allow families to purchase dinner to eat in the park before the movie starts.

Halloween Pumpkin Patch 2019

Halloween Pumpkin Patch in the Park

In the fall we invite members of our community to come out to the Durand Park and search for a pumpkin in our amazing Pumpkin Patch in the Park event. We ask those attending to bring a non-perishable food donation to support our local food banks and in return they may take home an amazing pumpkin to carve. We also have a few treats on-hand to hand-out to kids, big and small.

45th Durand Neighbourhood Anniversary Celebration 2017 “Party in the Park”

The DNA celebrated the beautiful, diverse, sustainable and vibrant community that the neighbourhood has become through its many accomplishments. To mark the occasion, the DNA threw a party in Durand Park on June 24, 2017.

The event was free and open to anyone in the city.

The event included live music (Versa Cello, Shawn Kerr, Tony Vieira Quartet and Laura Cole), featured educational displays (Central Public School, Durand through the Decades, Lost Heritage and Built Heritage), food trucks (Jonny Blonde, Reardon’s and Foundry Ice Cream), local vendors (Hammercloth, Sassafras Botanical Care, House on Hunter and Hoot Furnishings) and lots of fun for the kids (horse-drawn carriage rides, face painting, balloon animals, glitter tattoos and a historical photo opp)!

Plans are underway for the 50th Anniversary which will be celebrated in 2022!  Stay tuned for more information.
