May and June are the annual months celebrating Jane’s Walks, Tactical Urbanism and Garden Tours – which are terms that should inspire community action in all of us. They encourage us to be the change we want to see in our city. In order to get us ready for the big 100 in 1 Day urban intervention showcase on June 4th, we are hosting a workshop with our neighbors and a Jane’s Walk in the Durand. There are also many other workshops happening in other communities. Finally, our major summer event, the Grand Durand Garden Tour will take place on June 18th.

100 in 1 Day is a festival of global citizen action and Hamilton is participating for the second year in a row. Last year we had 250 citizens plan 120 “urban interventions” which helped make their city a better place!
If you would like to register your own urban intervention you can do so at https://hamilton.100in1day.ca/#submit. If you want to develop your idea, or you are interested in helping the Durand map all the important assets in our community, please attend the session on May 4th. More details to come!
